Common questions
A notice isn't showing. Check in the admin list that it's Live (not Scheduled, Paused or Ended), that it targets the right portal, page or space, and that the viewer hasn't dismissed it in that browser. A scheduled notice only shows early if it has a heads-up of 1 day or more. A notice you've just posted can take about 20 seconds to appear on newly opened pages, and up to 2 minutes on pages that are already open.
Notices don't show in Confluence. Install the app in Confluence on the same site as Jira. Notices are shared between the two automatically.
Portal customers can't see the notice. The app shows notices to licensed users, portal customers and anonymous visitors. If customers still can't see it, check the portal targeting and contact us.
I'm a Confluence admin and can't post an outage. Outage notices and portal notices reach your service desk customers, so they're posted from Jira by a Jira admin or someone in a group allowed to post. Confluence admins can create notices that show only in Confluence.
Can I show two notices at once? Each page shows one page-wide notice, the most important one (Confluence allows only one app banner at a time). A notice written for a particular request form shows under it on that form.
Two things are down at once (say Email and VPN). Post both: use Post another outage. Each gets its own card with updates and Mark as resolved. Customers see the newer one with "Also down right now: Email", and the agent panel on each request shows the outage its summary mentions. Up to 3 outages can run at once; posting the same service twice opens the one already live.
Can someone who isn't an admin create notices? Yes, if a Jira admin allows it. Under Who can post notices on the admin page, pick the groups (for example your service desk agents). They post from Apps → Announcement banners in Jira. The app checks their group membership on every action, and only admins can change who may post.
Does the app send data anywhere? No. It runs on Atlassian Forge and stores everything in your site's Forge storage. See the privacy policy.
